Guillermo (Willy) Parera
Guillermo (Willy) Parera started in his local insurance industry in 1987. He was shortly offered a position to join GARD A/S, the world´s leading Protection & Indemnity insurance provider, in Arendal, Norway. As an “Underwriter and Legal Advisor”, he helped grow and develop the company´s business in Latin America.
In 1990, he was transferred to GARD (UK) Ltd. In London, England, where he was eventually appointed “Senior Manager”, and responsible for the company´s customers in Latin America, “Latin” Europe, India, Australia among others, travelling frequently to all these places.
On his return to Argentina in 1999, he joined Prudential´s (U.S.) initial management team, and became “Chief Marketing Officer /Commercial Director”, a position he held until 2011. During this period, he helped implement a quality growth strategy throughout the country.
In 2011, he joined Zurich International as “Head of Independent Financial Advisors (IFAs) and Tied Agents /Commercial Director” (2011), where he helped consolidate and develop the company´s leadership in the local market.
With their support, in 2016 he founded his own “boutique” Agency, “Wealth Protection”, specialized in personalized financial and insurance advice to individuals and small/family companies. Earlier this year, part of the company´s business was sold to a large and well established local Broker.
Regular speaker at different industry´s events and consulted by specialized magazines and TV programs.
Willy graduated as a lawyer in Argentina (1986) and holds a Master´s degree obtained in Norway (1988). Since 2016, he has been a licensed financial and insurance broker.
He has both Argentine and British nationalities and hobbies are running, music and movies, among others.
Willy resides in Buenos Aires and has a daughter, Camila and a son, Nicolas.
