CHERYL ONG

Cheryl Ong, has over 30 years of experience in training and development in the Insurance and Financial Services Industry.   As a KBI Chief Master Trainer and extensive experience as a regional training director, Cheryl has supported, developed and guided training heads and teams to improve and elevate training standards all throughout Asia.  

Cheryl started her career as an agency trainer in AIA Singapore in 1990 and was appointed Training Director and Head of Agency Sales Promotion in 1994.  Her key contributions were undertaking restructuring of the training department and installing core programs. 

In 2000, Cheryl supported AIA Australia as the State Training Manager in Melbourne before assuming the role in AIA Hong Kong as the Regional Training Director responsible for assembling and training the AIA Impact Team and trainers. This was followed by a 3-year stint in AIA China to build and strengthen the training team.  In 2008, Cheryl became Regional Training Director at Allianz. Cheryl worked with the training teams conduct training into the core curriculum.  She also trained-the-trainers and implemented KBI leadership programs in Malaysia, Thailand, Indonesia and Taiwan.

KBI welcomed Cheryl to the team in 2012.  She undertook train-the-trainers for KBI programs across Asia. 

In 2016, she joined Prudential’s Regional Training Team as part of their Talent Development Initiative. Cheryl was involved developing and strengthening training teams in Singapore, Malaysia, Philippines, Thailand, Indonesia and Vietnam. 

Cheryl has used her passion, as well as life experiences to develop others to succeed in the training field.
